Labors of the Gods

Thanks to the TMP Hobby News announcement, I've picked up a new set of rules. Haven't read all the way through it yet, but it does seem fairly simple and fast-playing (what I was hoping for). And for $6.95 for the the PDF which I got about 10 seconds after ordering it, it isn't a bad deal. I was going to have my local stationary store print it out and spiral bind it, but they had trouble with their computer. After thinking about it, I will just print it out myself. Hope to post a review in the near future. Until then, here's the official description:

"Form a warband and adventure through Bronze Age Greece in a world where living myths walk among men! Build Demi-Gods, Satyrs, Centaurs, Amazons, and more! Battle your opponents' warband and the cursed children of the fallen Titans to recover ancient knowledge and gain the favor of the Gods themselves! Featuring skirmish-level action designed for 15mm or 28mm miniatures from any manufacturer, Labors of the Gods utilizes the tried and tested Goalsystem game engine made popular in previous releases like SuperSystem, Chaos in Carpathia, and Chaos in Cairo. Labors requires only a handful of miniatures and fistful of six-sided dice to play, and includes a full campaign system and five pre-made scenarios to get players right into the action. Clash with titanic foes and undertake legendary journeys on the tabletop with Labors of the Gods!"

I plan to use the rules to host a game at one of this summer's Truants Friday gatherings.

  3. Thanks for the interests, Gents. From what I've read so far, it seems very easy to tailor a scenario to any way you want it. It breaks down to Goal rolls (to see if you succeed in something) vs. Target Numbers (the difficulty of what you're trying to do); with a myriad of mods of course. Warm Regards, Dean

  4. I have the Chaos in Cairo rules and I like them therefore I'm inclined to think these are probably pretty good as well.

  5. I read about it on TMP. It looks like it's right up my alley! I have yet to try the Goal System games though, Terronus looked fun.
