Warhammer "Awakened Wyldwood" Terrain And Other Plastic Projects

Since the older Citadel woods set is OOP and only available at insanely high prices, ordered this new set of Warhammer woods. I liked the fantasy look of the older set, and this one carries on that flavor - including skulls and such around the base.

The kit has minimal parts and was easy to put together. Primed black, the nice sculpting takes to dry-brushing really nicely. They look the part for a Hail Britannia game, but plan to use them in other scenarios as well - the skulls don't bother me even for historical games.
The Perry AWI British and Continentals are also put together. Managed to get all the figures in skirmish poses by using various Victrix and Perry Napoleonic British arms. Also swapped out some of the AWI British arms onto the Continentals. They'll be in 6 or 12 man units and based on Litko 25mm rounds in 6-figure skirmish trays. Plan to use them for Black Powder's Rebellion which has a lot of scenarios with smaller units.
Another Imjin War naval game is in the works - waiting one an order of more ships for both the Koreans and Japanese. Until next time, wishing you all good health and hobby pursuits.

  6. I walk our dog past trees that look just like this...seriously! I have often thought, I can see why previous civilisations thought tres might sprout legs and wall around! The AWI figures look good...guess they will all be painted and based by Tuesday lunchtime 😊

    1. Thanks, Iain. Although they can be a bit pricey sometimes, I find Citadel/Warhammer plastics very well sculpted which makes for ease of painting. In this case just dry-brushing over a black undercoat. Warmest regards, Dean

  15. You've been a busy bee, and I've missed a bit. Family has me tied up for summer but got a chance today to catch up and see you are busy with some cool projects. Hope the heat out that way isn't too crushing for you.
