Per the previous post, only the trousers and jackets needed painting. There really wasn't much areas for the jackets as the straps and equipment cover most of it. The trousers were given a dark gray base coat and then highlighted with whitened gray. Probably a little too dark gray for the period, but not planning to redo them.
I didn't have a flag for the 52nd, so used another regiment's that looks the part. The flags aren't Victrix and are slightly smaller - which makes them fit a bit easier as the cords at the finials make the fit pretty tight. Not sure who makes these flags as they were also given to me by my buddy along with the figures. The facings for the 32nd are supposed to be white, but I used a grayish color to offset the white lacing on the cuffs and collars.Working on these reminded me how much I really do enjoy Napoleonics. So much so, that I picked up a Warlord Games French Infantry box off of ebay. Wanted to paint up at least one unit in full dress - with gaiters and all.So much for now - thanks again for stopping by and wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
Lovely work on both these British units Dean, look forward to seeing how you tackle their French opponents! Have a great Christmas and New Year and stay safe.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Jonathan. Same to you too!
DeleteWait, what? You not only paint fast, but friends just give you figures and flags and stuff. I painted like a figure, pffft, tossing paint brush in the bin, and shaking head....
ReplyDeleteSeriously quality job as usual, and Merry Christmas indeed! Time to dig out my copy of “It’s a wonderful life” and throw it in the DVD player and snuggle in a chair with some hot chocolate.
Cheers
Kevin
Thanks for the nice words as always, Kevin. Have a great Christmas! Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteBeautiful Dean units just seem to fall off your painting desk immaculately painted, very impressive 👍
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Matt. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!
DeleteSo quick and so brilliantly painted. Yes, there is actually not a lot of red on a 'red coat' but the speed and quality of your painting astounds. Great to view!'
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
Thank you so much again for your kind words, James. Honestly, all the straps and piping/lacing is a bit tedious - and I must say I much prefer dry-brushing French elite epaulettes vs. painting fine lines in-between British elite "wings". :) Kindest regards and Merry Christmas! Dean
DeleteDean,
ReplyDeleteI always love a good Napoleonic unit. Just curious, is there any room left in your house with all the figures! Have a great Christmas.
Lol! Thanks for the kind words, Neil. Well, I did have to move some figures to plastic containers to show off these two new units in an Ikea bookcase :) Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones! Dean
DeleteAmazing job! Merry Christmas to you too!
