Dry brushed both tanks to soften the greens as I thought they were a bit too dark. This gave the tanks a slightly weathered look too.
Plan to use a lighter/softer green for future projects. The Tamiya 1/48th Jagdtiger with Victory Force minis for scale comparison. The 1/50th Corgi Panther, again with Victory Force figures for comparison. I think they look both look like good matches for 28mm figures - especially the ones on the larger side like these.Head on scale/size comparisons.Although they are slightly different scales, they seem to work well enough together. It was a decent experience using an actual airbrush for the first time. It's a nice addition to the hobby toolbox, particularly for projects like this.Well, so much for now. Thanks again for stopping by and checking out the blog. Best wishes to you all!
The dry brushing has made them even better Dean, and they certainly seem to scale up well enough with the figures, great work all around!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Keith. Toning down the green helped a lot. Kindest regards, Dean

ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Mike! Best regards, Dean
DeleteNice panzers, believable patterns. Be good to see them in action.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Joe. I'm thinking of trying out Bolt Action Tank War. Seems a simple way to get a lot of armor in a skirmish game. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteWow. Dean they look absolutely amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind words, Richard. Much appreciated. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteLovely finish and result, I'm not that keen on sprayguns , mainly because I used to have to use one for work, endless cleaning! The two scales work well together I think.
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you very much, Iain. Didn't know about your work history with them too! :) Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteThose tanks turned out lovely Dean!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks a lot, Christopher! Appreciate the compliment! Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteThey look excellent sir! I have had an airbrush for like five years now, and just never pulled it out. Seemed like to much prep work. Sigh, one day.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Kevin
Thank you very much, Kevin! I figured it was worth a shot as it came with the small compressor - like an aquarium pump - so no hassles setting it up. I found cleaning it fairly straight forwards. I used some cheap rubbing alcohol and water mixture for clean up. I did a minor scare when I took apart the airbrush to clean the needle. Took me a while to figure how to put it back in. It went in alright, so no biggie. Kindest regards, Dean
