Vistula Legion - Perry French With A Few Warlord Games Headswaps

Managed to power through and get these guys done. My left arm is hurting, but a few rum and cokes and ibuprofen should ease the pain.
The head swaps worked out nicely. I think the Vistula Legion, as well as other Polish troops, should be in the closed lapel jackets rather than the older style open lapel and long tailed type.
I found the flag on the internet, but not from an actual miniatures flag site so the detail is kind of grainy. Still good enough for the gaming table.
The flag pole is painted with red, white and blue spirals - as in the Uniforms of the Retreat from Moscow book I used as a reference.
Well, I'm glad I finished them up as I'll likely have to take a break before working on the Warlord guys as Swiss 4th Regiment. So much for now. Wishing you all the very best during the universal Clamp Down.

  7. These are lovely, Dean. I really like the lack of total-parade-ground-uniformity. They look like hard veterans who've seen some action, but are not so varied that they look like a bunch of wild rogues or armed bandits!

  8. Yes, you have done a wonderful job on these Dean, I particularly love the way the yellow in the facings and turn backs pop out at you. The basing is pretty nice too...all in all, an outstanding job, you have earned the rum and coke and a day off painting duty!

    1. Thanks a lot, Iain. Yes, thanks to a YouTube video, I've put the ball into a spare/old nylon stocking my wife gave me - this way the ball doesn't drop to the floor when moving it around. Kindest regards, Dean

Keep quiet about "Rum & Coke & Ibuprofen" though, it will get touted as the next miracle cure.

    1. Thank you very much, Mike. Yes, I stopped taking ibuprofen. It was messing up my stomach. I am now only taking a couple of Alleve every 12 hours. After everything settles down, I may try acupuncture if its still bothering me. That all said, run and cokes will continue. Warmest regards, 3

  19. Hi Dean, These troops look absolutely magnificent. Definitely worth the effort you have put in. I hope you are getting some painting time in during the enforced time indoors.
