Warlord Games "Swiss" Pikemen - WIP

These are from a box of Warlord Games Landsknecht Pikemen that a buddy gave me. He decided to go with all Foundry for his Landsknechts. Painted them up to match the Talabheim Empire guys I have. They'll be used as Swiss for Italian War too. As usual, here are pictures of them stained with Minwax, and also before the stain block painted.

On the gaming front we just found out that the Boeing Museum of Flight has decided not to let our gaming group attend their Hobby Day in November. This is something we've been doing for at least a decade or so. Guess the new management didn't want kids seeing grown adults playing with toy soldiers.

  1. Outstanding brushwork with a lot of variety and intricate designs. Next time I paint a Landsknecht unit, I will return for inspiration. Too bad about losing MoF as a gaming venue.

    1. Thanks, Jonathan. Kevin Smyth, who was the point of contact with the museum said he wasn't given details as to why they decided to end our time there. In the past, the staff enjoyed our time with them. Kindest regards, Dean

  3. As always, the Miniwax really transforms the figures Dean - I particularly love the effect it has on the faces!
Shame about the Boeing place - seems a bit odd given people wondering around looking at planes is a pretty niche interest, too!

    1. Thanks a lot, Keith. Yes, we really weren't told why we aren't on the invite list anymore. They might've got rid of their hobby day entirely. I know we boosted their restaurant sales on that day! Warm regards, Dean

  4. Another fine group of pike for the next game. Hopefully the museum has a change in perception for the next time.
