This is the last vehicle needed for a play test. Wanted something the Boys anti-tank rifle could take out.
The kit went to together quickly with minimal parts. Only wish it came with a crewman for the turret.
Turret rotates and the gun can elevate. The hatch is a brass etched part which comes with the kit.
With 28mm Warlord Games DAK infantry for size/scale comparison.
It'll have the Recce evade rule.
And compared to a Panzer IV.
Attending a game day up at Boeing Museum of Flight tomorrow. Not hosting anything, but hope to get into a couple of games - and check out the museum displays again. Until next time, happy gaming and painting to you all.
Lovely vehicle Dean I have the Warlord version which is not as finely cast
ReplyDeleteThanks, Matt! Appreciate the nice compliment. Warm regards, Dean
DeleteCongrads, Dean! Another superb work. Why do you prefer 1/48? For my opinion 1/56 more close to 28mm figures than 1/48.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vasiliy for the nice words and great questions. I started out with 1/50th scale Corgi vehicles and then slowly added a few 1/48th scale (including the cheap Walmart stuff). Also, I like building 1/48th Tamiya kits. :) But, as you say 1/56th is closer to 28mm and what a lot of (most?) gamers prefer. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteGreat work Dean!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mike! Best regards, Dean
DeleteAnother splendid addition Dean, this is quite a force you are putting together.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael. Yes, enough for a play test. Kind regards, Dean
DeleteThis model is a real beauty! Have fun at the MoF!
ReplyDeleteThank you much, Jonathan. Yes, heading out within the hour. We get to get in 1 hour before the regular visitors. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteI think this is the same model as the ICM one, a really nice one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Doug. Yes, box says Tamiya, but the instructions and decal sheet also has ICM on it. Plus the plastic for the main model was gray colored and felt slightly different (lighter?) than the usual plastic Tamiya-proper kits are. Good enough in any case. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteWell done, another splendid vehicle Dean!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Phil. Best, Dean
DeleteThe 222 is a favorite of mine. This one is nicely done. Weathered and highlighted just enough to bring up the realism. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Allan! I like this armored car too. Looks the business and ahead of its time, IMO. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteNice job on the recce car, Dean!
ReplyDeleteThank you much, Tim. Your recent work was inspirational. Best regards, Dean
DeleteHa! thanks! I was actually looking at your model and - I've always liked the look of the 222 - so I was thinking of how I might convert it for 40K purposes if I picked one up for myself! I'm sure I saw someone converted a 1/35 model into a giant war buggy for some Space Orks at one point!
DeleteThat's a great looking model Dean.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Ray. A must-have DAK vehicle :) Warm regards, Dean
DeleteBravo, Dean! Excellent work 8)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Denis! Kind regards, Dean
DeleteNice work! The pic with the 222 and PzIV shows my two favourite WW2 vehicles. Looking forward to seeing them on the table.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mike! Yes, very iconic AFV's - particularly in this theater. Warm regards, Dean
DeleteExcellent work Dean!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Michal! Best regards, Dean
DeleteLovely looking armoured car and works really well with the DAK figures even if they are different scales!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks, Iain. I think it helps that the Warlord figs are on the larger/bulkier side of 28mm. Kind regards, Dean
DeleteNicely looking 222, Dean. Can’t stop admiring the color palette you picked for DAK.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Dmitry. I was thinking of adding highlights to the DAK infantry guys, but as they're strictly for gaming - that is for others to handle and play with, I think I'll leave 'em as is. Best regards, Dean
DeleteGreat kit and great work so far on your DAK army!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the visits and kind comments! Best regards, Dean
DeleteVery well done Dean! That's probably my all time favourite armoured car (next to the BA-6 probably) and you've done a great job indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nick! Appreciate your visit and kind words. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteI don't know why, but armored cars in the desert have a special place in my heart. Watched too many episodes of Rat Patrol when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Kevin
Thanks, Kevin! Yes, Rat Patrol was a stock favorite back in the day; that and Combat! :) Warm regards, Dean
DeleteIf you remember Combat (and Vic "the man" Morrow) then your an old dude like me;)
DeleteI'm turning 58 next month. :)
