Decided to paint a few French Napoleonic figures by Front Rank. Finished two of them, a drum major and a Guard Foot Artillery officer. Still need to paint the Jingling Johnny Mameluke. The drum major is based on descriptions of several examples from Light Infantry regiments prior to Napoleon ordering all musicians to wear Imperial Livery colors.
I like Front Rank and will likely be getting more someday. These were ordered some time ago along with their Spanish Guerrillas. They might appear a bit bulky in photos but I think they actually go well together on the table with both Victrix and Perry.
As far as gaming plans go, there was a last call for more games at Enfilade! later this month. I stepped up and committed to hosting a reprise of the Samurai Skirmish game that was played last summer at Fix Bayonets! My buddy and I are also still hosting the Magnesia game using WAB 2.0 rules. All the gear is packed and ready to roll - as well as some items I hope to sell at the Bring & Buy tables.
Very nice paintjob!
ReplyDeleteThey look great. Very nice miniatures and nice paintjob.
ReplyDeleteGreat paintjob Dean with some excellent highlighting. Regards, Michael
ReplyDeleteExcellent paint work, impressive
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Gents. These are a nice break from Ancients. Also, not having to paint up a whole battalion of them is great too :)! Regards, Dean
ReplyDeleteGreat job
ReplyDeleteI suspect anything you've painted should command a premium at a bring and buy event!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment. Have yet to sell painted stuff at the convention; it's either unpainted stuff, books or terrain. I just can't seem to part with my stuff - although I'd like to trade some of my painted WW1 stuff for some Boxer Rebellion or WW1 Russians. Warm Regards, Dean
Great painting, Dean
ReplyDeleteNice figures, really nice paintwork.
ReplyDeleteGreat work. Front Rank figures look really good and I suspect they are tough to paint.
ReplyDeleteLovely paint job!
