Finished the AW figures to flesh out the line and grenadier units with previously painted Foundry figures. As they are intended for smaller skirmish games, there are only 12 figures per unit - line and grenadiers. Here's the completed AW figures themselves.
Photo below has the AW figures mixed in with their Foundry brethren - a good match. Note the Cambis guys and French Marines in gris blanc coats are all AW figures - and the Marines in blue undress are all Redoubt figures. The units from left to right (front and back groups): Cambis line and grenadiers; La Sarre line and grenadiers; La Reine grenadiers and line; Marines. Last row: Artillery and small unit of more Marines. Plan to add some flags - but the Flags of War ones I have, beautiful as they are, appear a bit too large. I may try and scan and resize them. Or maybe they're supposed to be that big - need to research this a bit.
That's looking anazing Dean!

DeleteLooking good Dean, makes me want to get my FIW collection back out to see where it is upto 👍
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Matt! It's a period that I've never lost interest in - probably my only interest in N. American wars; I don't really have much interest in either AWI or ACW - although most of my gaming buddies here do (and not in F&IW). Weird. Best regards, Dean
DeleteSuper looking French force Dean!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks, Christopher! These are all really "chunky" and robust figures - perfect for skirmish gaming with handling of individual figures. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteAs one of my favorite periods for gaming I am really enjoying seeing your work and take on the painting of the miniatures.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Neil. Some Foundry British are up next. They have a lot more uniform details, so will be a bit more challenging. Kindest regards, Dean
ReplyDeleteSplendid looking force you've built up, excellent work!
