This site was created late in 2008, just a few years after first becoming involved in wargaming. As you can tell by the name, WAB was my introduction to this community. I appreciate the following and comments this blog receives, and give all thanks and credit to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It may seem odd that this blog appears to focus on the folly of mankind's continuous warfare, but I believe I can still enjoy this hobby so long as I put Him first in all I do. Maranatha!

Front Rank Chasseurs a Cheval - Completed
Here they are - based two per on 50X50mm squares. I added a bit of highlighting after the Minwax stain - the green looked too plain if not.
I really like their simple, yet elegant poses; very nice looking in ranks. The horses' tails are a bit long, so I had to bend them to the sides to allow the second rank.
This unit will replace the Cuirassier/Carabinier unit for the Salamanca game. I hope to get a Front Rank Lancer unit in the future - either Polish or Dutch.

Very nice looking unit!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Beautiful looking unit Dean. Great work.
ReplyDeleteThese are really well done! I like the shading.
ReplyDeleteKen
Great looking unit sir....
ReplyDeleteNice stuff - particularly the shading on the green coats. Very effective look.
ReplyDeleteThey look very nice Dean. It is hard to believe that looking at the photos that they are dipped. Nice contrast colors for an overall uniform effect with each model. I can't wait to get another game of Black Powder in, but alas it must be WAB until Enfilade. The stuff I complain about...LOL. Too much wargaming!
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed!! It seems a powerful unit.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Outstanding Sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the kind comments, Gentlemen.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention that the standard is from a Perry box - didn't use it for the Hussars.
Best, Dean
Very nice Dean, its interesting to see how the minwax treatment works with such a wide range of colours.
ReplyDeleteRegards HGA.
A cracking looking unit!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Job! Forgive my lack of period knowledge, but will there be a flag or penant added to the standard?
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Gentlemen, for the kind words.
ReplyDeleteScott: From what I've read, a lot of times, the flag themselves were left off in combat/campaign.
Best, Dean
Sweet, I'm going use to these as a painting guide for mine. No distracting research required!
ReplyDeleteDean, please pick Dutch Lancers, great uniforms.
ReplyDeleteDean - the Chasseurs look great - I think FR do really good mounted figures. I'd vote for the Dutch lancers next too! Beautiful painting as always.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Doc
