This site was created late in 2008, just a few years after first becoming involved in wargaming. As you can tell by the name, WAB was my introduction to this community. I appreciate the following and comments this blog receives, and give all thanks and credit to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It may seem odd that this blog appears to focus on the folly of mankind's continuous warfare, but I believe I can still enjoy this hobby so long as I put Him first in all I do. Maranatha!

Lovely work there Dean, the magnet idea has a lot of legs. Would they be strong enough to hold howdahs on Aventine elephants do you think?
ReplyDeleteRegards HGA.
Thanks, HGA. As far as the howdahs, I'm pretty sure the larger ones would do well - they're very strong; plus the howdahs basically sit on the backs of the elies. Something horizontal like the these wings would be tough if made out of lead. Since this kit is plastic, the magnets work very well. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteGreat work , really nice figurine , and good paint Dean .
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Vincent .
Superb looking general it looks the business. Can't wait to see the rest of the options done. I realy like the two head look as well.
ReplyDeleteFantastic piece of work, top quality.
ReplyDeleteYes, a stonking good model!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figure, a beautiful paintjob!!
ReplyDeletePhil.
Wow - that's an intricate model and it's beautifully done - I suspect the magnets also aid in transport.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a warhammer fantasy battle in person - it must be an impressive sight with models like this
Excellent stuff Dean, the magnets are a cool idea.
ReplyDeleteI did have a little chuckle to myself though... This beastie is so awesome, if it landed in front of me, the last thing on my mind would be worrying some chap waving his hammer about! ;-)
best
Scott
That is just astonishing Dean, what a stunning piece of work - bravo Sir.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding work Dean and clever bit with the magnets!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thank you all for the kind words and interest. The magnets definitely are of use to break down the rather large model for transport.
ReplyDeleteWarm regards, Dean
Dean, sorry to pester. You use satin or gloss on the tudor?
ReplyDeleteBTW, the model is freakin' AWESOME.
Stunning beastie! I don't know how you do it Dean! A model like this would take anyone else months to do. And you do it beautifully with all options (and magnets) in days!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see an AAR with your Empire forces.
Thanks again for the kind words, Michael & Monty.
ReplyDeleteMichael: Satin - but still finish with something like Dullcote when the stain is completely dried/cured (at least overnight).
Monty - in just a few weeks I should be getting in a practice game or two with my buddies.
Best, Dean
Brilliant, Dean! And great idea with the magnets, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Aaron. Best, Dean
