I'm not up on Russian artillery, but used the illustrations in an Osprey book for the gun carriage color. Maybe too green?
This unit pretty much rounds out a nice Russian brigade along with the infantry and cavalry I have.
This site was created late in 2008, just a few years after first becoming involved in wargaming. As you can tell by the name, WAB was my introduction to this community. I appreciate the following and comments this blog receives, and give all thanks and credit to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It may seem odd that this blog appears to focus on the folly of mankind's continuous warfare, but I believe I can still enjoy this hobby so long as I put Him first in all I do. Maranatha!
Great looking figures there.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Ross
Agreed, good work on some nice figures. The officer looks appropriately martial.
ReplyDeleteNice, interesting, putting a drummer on the stand.
ReplyDeleteLooks bloody fine to me Dean!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Dean.
ReplyDeleteLooks spot on to me! Great work Dean.
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me ! That green looks just fine too!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the comments, Gentlemen!
ReplyDeleteDan: I used him mainly to have four figures on the stand - only had three crew initially. And in two uniform books I have, artiller drummers are illustrated.
Thanks again, Dean
Great looking artilerymen, and very nice gun!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figures Dan, very very nice!! Like the added Drummer!!
ReplyDeleteA very nice set.
ReplyDeleteNice work Dean. Is the idea of artillery drummers uniquely Russian?
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Gents.
ReplyDeleteHGA: I don't think so; I know the French had drummers for artillery; just not exactly sure where they'd be standing battle - for this grouping I squeezed him in next to the gun. Best, Dean
You should use these if the club sticks with the next WAB campaign as Napoleonic.
