Pulled a marathon and painted up the three bags of OG Biblicals today. These are the Anatolian Spearmen, Philistine and Sherden packs. Here they are freshly stained with Minwax.
They were given a very basic (if not crude) paint job prior to the staining. They are broken down into six separate units.
They'll be given a finish of Testors Dullcote once dried; plan to base them on 40mm squares - four figures per..
Impressive work rate! Figures look good too.

Now that's speed painting!

Great stuff Dean.
ReplyDeleteAmazing progress and I'd say that your self described standard of "crude" equates to my "best-effort" level.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive!

Thank you all for the kind comments. I must give the Minwax stain much of the credit. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Dean! You paint high-quality figures faster than any other gamer I know.
ReplyDeleteGood grief that's a lot of figures, you'll need a few beers after these!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Dean. Just in time for the release of the FREE Chariot Wars Supplement for WAB. You should check it out.
ReplyDelete90 models in a day and a half?!?!?!?!?!
ReplyDelete91 - I had an extra Sherdan dude :)!
ReplyDeleteQuite a group, nice work Dean
ReplyDeleteYou did WHAT??!! I'm going to slink away now and feel sorry for myself and my thousands of unpainted miniatures. I hear them asking to move to your house.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, Gents.
ReplyDeleteKevin: This is how I meditate prior to attending a post-Enfilade committe meeting. ;)! Dean
They look very nice. Perhaps you need to show some crazy close ups so we can all see this 'crudeness'! I wish I could pull that sort of paint job off, even over days. Practice practice! You show me what is possible :) Thanks for the post
ReplyDeleteWow Dean! (Howzit bra?) That's a terrific speed painting job - wish I could paint that fast - I've got a horde of Prussians to do - so your speed paint method would be handy! I take it Miniwax is an American stain laquer of some sort that does a similar job to the ridiculously expensive Army Painter? Great job man!

ReplyDeleteAloha'z - My buddy painted up a bunch of Perry Prussians using the stain method. They look great. Yes, the brand Minwax is a stain here in the Colonies - the version I use (as most others) is polyurethane acrylic based; not oil/laquer based. The oil/laquer type seems to never dry - at here in the rarely-sunny Pacific NW. The shade most use is Tudor Satin - kind of a blackish-brown tone. Best, Dean
