OG Gaesatae (aka Nekkid Gauls) Completed

They actually need a standard and a musician (or at least a trumpet). Otherwise they're ready for the table.
These guys really look like a bunch of wild men - should be easier to remember to roll for Warband tests.
I really like how the LBMS transfers worked out. They fit really well; especially considering there were about five different types of shields. I managed to get away with four types and "made" them fit on some.
After I take a little break, I'll start on the OG Gallic cav - also with some LBMS transfers for their shields.

  1. Great unit, the shields look magic. What did you use for the spears?

  5. Nice work as usual. I believe I have a few musicians (Old Glory) that are extra, but I'm not sure if any of them are nekkid...

  6. Thanks for the great comments, Gentlemen!

Mr. Sat: I used some left over ends from some North Star brass spears. Hammered & filed the ends for points.

Scott: I'd love to have a musician (clothed or sans) - sure I have something to trade you for it.

  9. Dean - your nude dudes are absolutely magnificent! The shield and bits and pieces of armour etc add to the effect. I'd be a very scared little Legionary to see that lot coming at me!

    Cheers,
    Doc

  10. Some really nice contrasts there. The skin tones are muted enough that it lets the sheilds really "pop".

  13. Alex:

Thanks for the compliments. As far as unit size (pardon the pun for these guys) - they're on a 28-man base that I already had. However, I plan to have them in at least a 32-man unit later. I have two more painted OG guys and just need to add a standard & musician. Warm Regards, Dean
