Old Glory French (Nap.) Artillery Train

These were also given a quick basic paint job, and then a Miniwax Tudor Stain "dip." I don't think there's a faster way to get models ready for the table (painted ;) ).
Here's a comparison photo of sorts; beside the two OG models are Victrix and Perry models. I think they fit together very well.
I was lucky enough to have scored the OG model for $10 dollars at the Bring & Buy table at our local convention, Enfilade! Doug Hamm brought it all the way down from British Columbia - what a great deal. Thanks, Doug. These models will be used in a Sharp Practice game in a couple of weeks.

    Dean,
    There IS a faster way to get models on the table, but it involves a lot of shiny lead and unpainted resin! And no one really likes that... Great job on these!

    It is amazing how fast you have painted the limbers, and to a very nice standard too. I wonder if it would work on 15's?

    Paul: I'm pretty sure it would - just watch for pooling of the stain while it's drying - which in hot weather can be pretty quick; if it looks too thick in areas, just dab at it with a brush.

    One of these days (oh bother...), I'll have to update my woefully out-of-date blog with photos of some WW2 stuff I did in a similar fashion, but with Army Painter.

    Nothing like the "dip" to speed your miniatures to the table!

    They look very nice and your right army painter is the quickest way to get a model on the table painted.....unless you add a few highlights like me which turns it from quick to well... kinda quick.:-0

    Christopher: I've done a little touch up after the dip too. I had to touch up my nekid Gauls as the base flesh looked too yellow. Pretty much gave them another flesh wash. Also, I could always go back and add more highlighting, etc. at a later date (post gaming session ;) ).
