Perry AWI Project - WIP

Well finally started on these plastic Perry AWI figure - which were sitting in bins already primed since last summer. Minwax stained over block painting. As mentioned in an earlier post (from last year), firing and more "active" arm combinations from Perry and Victrix British Napoleonics were used on some of the figures to give them more skirmish poses.

These are from a set each of Continentals and British. They are broken down into units of 6 for smaller skirmish scenarios. They'll be on individual 25mm rounds with movement trays. Not exactly sure of which rules to use, but Black Powder, Muskets and Tomahawks and Rebels and Patriots are options.
I based the Continental units on the ones which participated at the Battle of Hubbarton: Seth Warner's Regiment, Green Mountain Boys, 2nd New Hampshire and 11th Massachusetts Regiments.
The British units are based upon those that participated in the Saratoga Campaign. The grenadiers and lights have Wargames Factory head swaps.

Just a little blog update to let you all know what I've been keeping busy with. Thanks for stopping by and wishing you all the best.

    1. Thanks, Jonathan. I have 2 La Haye Sainte Black Powder games (Friday and Saturday afternoons), and 1 Marston Moor Pike and Shotte game (Saturday night). I added the Marston Moor game after submitting the two Black Powder games as Saturday night was light on games. Best regards, Dean

  3. Looking good Dean - Sharpe Practice would also be a good option but then, possibly Rebel and Patriots uses similar mechanisms to replicate small scale actions in the black powder era?

  5. Erm, Brits in the Saratoga campaign had cut down uniforms and very distinctive cut down hats/caps.

    1. Thanks, Simon. Yes, the grenadiers likely stored their expensive bearskins for the campaign, but I just had to have them as they look too cool. Lol! Kindest regards, Dean

    1. Thanks, Matt! I've hesitated to get into the AWI, as it's so close to the Napoleonic period, but figured two boxes of Perry plastics would be a nice dip into it. :) Warmest regards, Dean
