Okay, that's a pretty overused line, but still a great movie. Anyway, here are the Perry guys next to a Gorgon Ney which was a giveaway at an Adepticon a couple of years ago. My buddy Pat L. (Socal Warhammer) picked one up for me when he was there. Thanks again, Pat.
I couldn't find my tub of plaster which I used for snow on the Ney base. I ended up using baking soda, which I wasn't too happy with. Oh, well, I might end up rebasing them some day anyway.
Only after looking at the photo below, have I realized I missed a portion of the Ney base.
I may end up getting a few more figures to beef up Ney's contingent.
Outstanding! Are you finishing off with stain or ink wash?
ReplyDeleteLooking just great Dean! One can feel the cold from here!

Thanks, Jonathan and Christopher.
ReplyDeleteI used Vallejo ink/stain for these. The can of Minwax is all but done - a few years old and mostly hardened already.
Best, Dean
Lovely figures. been waiting to see some of these painted! Great line from a great film by the way - still amazed so many people are unaware of "the Duellists". I have the film poster ready to go up on my painting room wall!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Matt. Yes a classic - and you have a poster of it?! Cool. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteGreat to see them altogether like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figures Dean, lots of bloggers seem to be painting up these figures at the moment!!!

ReplyDelete@ Ray - yes, I've seen those - very impressive - especially the ones with Cossacks!
Best, Dean
Ney is a one-man contingent, he doesn't need beefing up!

Excellent work, Dean, another example of your varied repertoire. More power to you sir!
Aha! You got a Gorgon Ney as well. Possibly my favourite 28mm Nap full stop. Mine is sitting on my bench as we speak, awaiting his buddies from Perry to arrive.
ReplyDeleteYours is lovely mate, such an inspiration!
Thank you both, Ev and Michael. Appreciate your kind words. Best, Dean
ReplyDeletePretty cool minis, you painted them quite nicely and quickly.
ReplyDeleteLovely looking set you have there and the bases look fine to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks, James & Paul. Appreciate the visit and comments. Dean

ReplyDeleteVery nice figures indeed.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
Great job with the ink wash Dean.
ReplyDeletePoor old Ney. He tends to get a bit of a bum rap for his performance at Waterloo but there was no doubting his bravery and his efforts during the retreat were heroic.
i really love these figures! nice to see how you bring them to life!
