Highland Miniatures 3D Printed Sunland Knights, General, and Cannon

Just got the knights and general today in 28mm. A few weeks ago I had ordered and received them in 32mm, thinking it would match the larger 28mm Games Workshop Empire Knights, but when I got them the 32mm guys were way too big. I returned them to the seller on Esty for 28mm ones which match very well. The seller was very accomodating and I only had to ship back the initial figures.

The knights set comes with 10 horses and 11 riders. One of the riders is a musician, which I chose not to use. It also comes with shields and extra helmeted heads. My set only came with two lances, but will likely replace the two with swords or maces, anyway. I'm pretty sure the seller would send me more lances if asked for.
The general figure and horse in 28mm match up very well with GW.
The cannon are in 32mm, but work fine as I like them looking big. The painted models are old GW metals. I didn't order the crewmen as I wanted to use some from Steel Fist Miniatures, but they are currently not in stock. I may get some from Foundry or Artizan.

I also got a set of Victrix Greek Hoplites (Greek and Persian Wars) today too - and LBMS shield transfers the other day. Along with the two bags of Old Glory Italian Wars Swiss Pikemen, and the 3D printed knights, I should be pretty busy for awhile.
Although I'm trying to downsize my figure collection, I just couldn't pass up these Hoplites as they have some great looking Corinthian and other earlier helmets - which didn't come with the Mercenary Hoplite set I already have. As a kid, one of my first figures were a box of Airfix 1/72nd Romans - which I "converted" to Greek Hoplites using a hot knife to sculpt their helmets into something looking like Corinthian helmets (not very successful) - as best a 10 year old could. I also added round shields using metal soda pull tabs cut with a pair of scissors. Anyway, just wanted to post an update to share what I'm up to right now.

    1. Thanks, Michal. They're really nice - and the resin used is very durable - sort of bendy, but not like plastics. Kind regards, Dean

    1. Thanks, Jonathan! I may have to try working on these 3 projects at the same time - I usually do one at a time, but this approach may make it more interesting. Kindest regards, Dean

  3. Nice 3d prints Dean...nice to see! If you check my recent post, I think I may have had a similar sizing issue with a Kubelwagon !!

    1. Thanks, Keith. Yes, I initially thought the GW figs were 32mm because they definitely look bigger than 28mm stuff (like Perry), but in actuality - at least with these prints - 28mm is much closer to them. Warmest regards, Dean

    1. Thanks, Matt! I wish I have gotten more of the GW knights when they were "affordable" - now they're insanely priced. These "newer" Hoplites are in more individual action poses. I plan to have them individually based for skirmishy games. Kindest regards, Dean

  6. Those match really well.

Every time I say I am going to downsize somehow I end up with more. Perhaps I will say from now on I will expand my collection and see what happens;)

    Cheers
