These are the last of the plastic figures from the Warlord Games army starter box. Still have the metal command, and light cannon and crew to work on. Made up some more Zweihänder guys and arquebusiers. Also, used some spare Perry Mercenary pike arms to flesh out a pike unit with Perry figures that will proxy as Swiss.
Painting these guys up was a nice distraction from some home owner issues we're going through. Basically, we just discovered we need to replace some of the subfloor of our master bathroom due to faulty contruction of our shower - our place is only 6 years old. Waiting on our insurance to see if they'll cover some of the costs. Anyway, back to these figures - the Perry pike arms went on without issues, and I painted the padded sleeves up with stripes to give them a later look. The one pike guy in blue and yellow is a Perry Merc figure, the rest of the bodies are from the Landsknecht box.
These arquebusiers will be added to the 30 or so already painted. Should be enough for several small (12-figure) units. They could be used to support the Swiss pikes too, I suppose.
These Zweihänder guys could be used with a few others already painted as a Forlorn Hope unit.
The six new figures in the front rank, with Perry Merc pikemen on 40mm squares behind them - for a 30-figure unit. A few of the Perry guys have Burgundian crosses, but don't mind using them.

Another excellent addition to your growing Landsknecht force. Bummer about home issues, that certainly will increase stress levels. One good thing about our hobby and it’s calming effect

DeleteToo bad about the faulty sub-flooring but your Landsknechts are superb! Maybe you can find a contractor that will work in exchange for beautifully painted figures?

ReplyDeleteif you live in the UK and you paid for any part of the work on the bathroom via credit card you will get the money back under section 75 of the credit card act under the defective goods section. I am sure there are similar agreements in other countries.

ReplyDeleteHopefully the issue with your home can be sorted without you having to foot (or any) of the cost - I would have thought the builder would be liable if its only 6 years old - I am pretty sure all new builds in NZ have to be issue free for at least the first 10 years.

DeleteLooks fabulous! However I would never did them on single bases. We are using HC for our games and have like four/five pike blocks per side. It would take forever, before we start the game. But if you use skirmishes, that solution is perfect.

Yes, multi-fig basing works best for larger games like HC or P&S, however, when I first started on this project, I was intending to supplement my existing WHFB Empire army which is based on GW-style squares. That said, since I have them magnetized on movement trays it'll be fine too. Kindest regards, Dean
