More Pike and Shot Foot Regiments - Warlord Games and Perry Miniatures

Here are three more foot regiments - Sir Phillip Skippon's redcoats; Lord Brookes' in purple; and Lord Saye & Sele's bluecoats; all Parliamentarians.

Skippon's pikemen and command are Perry metals.
As with most of the previous foot regiments, these were chosen mainly for their coat colors and available flags. Not necessarily for participation in any particular battle or campaign.
The pikes for the Perry figures are from plastic broom bristles - which are very sturdy and flexible.
There more foot regiments remain to be painted - including another Scots Covenanter one. After they are done, the cavalry and dragoons will be worked on.

Just a quick update and thank you all for stopping by and wishing you all the best.

  12. A trio of fine looking regiments, Dean. Your units are the same as my originals, but I have since gone with half that size. I have Brooke and Say and Seele in my army as well, and for the same reasons! :-)

    1. Thanks, Peter! I was thinking about regiment size too - the shot wings, in particular, as they seem to take up too much frontage. I was thinking if only 8 figs (2 stands) per wing might work better; keeping the pike as a block of 16 (4 stands). Kindest regards, Dean

  17. Lovely work on these. Nice to see how well the Perry stuff seems to work with the Warlord. I think the next batch of figs I pick up for ECW will be from them - I have a smattering in the batch of OG figs I got, and quite like them.

    1. Thanks, Markus. Yes, the Perry work well with the Warlord figs; the Perry may be a tight "slighter" overall, but work well together. I saw a YouTube comparison of these two along with Bicorne - and Bicorne were quite massive (and taller) than both Perry and Warlord. I may pick up a command figure or two of Bicorne latter - as I don't mind command figures being somewhat larger. Kindest regards, Dean
