Bosworth Commands

Finally printed out the banners/flags for the command groups after having my oldest boy set up the printer again. The mounted commands are Henry VII and Richard III. The foot commands are Oxford and Norfolk. All of the flags were found on the internet for free. The nice standards were found on the Grumpy Wargamers site.
The mounted figures are all Old Glory save the figure for Henry which is a Crusader mini. The foot guys are all Perry plastics from either their WotR Infantry or European Merc sets.

Close up of the Yorkist commands:
And the Lancastrians:
I plan to get a couple more boxes of plastic Perrys, and also have commands for Stanley and Northumberland. This in spite of my initial concept of using mostly figures I already had for the Bowsworth game. At least I won't have to get any mounted or dismounted knights - I have enough of them already.

  7. Outstanding! The banners look as good as any commercially produced products. Very good job on the flags.

This will be a stunning army arrayed for battle.

  8. Stunning work on the command stands, Dean. Your printer is a sight better than mine. Like Jonathan said, those banners look pro.

  9. Thanks, Jonathan and Monty - to be fair, the colors are a bit duller in person, but good enough for the battlefield - and the price was right ;)! Best, Dean

  17. Very Nice Dean. I can really see you are making some stellar progress on this army. BTW, I have a couple boxes of Perry Plastics that I would be willing to trade or sell if you are interested? Just let me know.

    1. Thanks, Pat. Dang, I wish I saw your post earlier. I just ordered a box of WotR infantry from FRP - actually found it on ebay. I may need another box of Mercs though. See you on Saturday. Dean

  18. Dean, any thoughts about rules? Though not quite the same period, I'm always interested in what might work for HYW/WOTR carnage.

    1. Thanks for dropping by, Kevin. I plan to use the modified/simplified version of Hail Caesar - similar to the one I used for the Imjin War game at Enfilade. Just a bit of tweaking for the period/scenario. I'm sure it would work for HYW too. Although I'm not planning on using missile fire too much for this scenario - only in the opening turn(s) - followed by engagements. There will be a bit of chance/predictableness for commitment by some of the commanders. Best, Dean
