This is a Forge World resin model which I think is called a "Death Guard Legion" Contemptor Dreadnought.
I was lucking enough to pick the body kit up off of ebay for a fraction of the original cost. It was a Russian seller, who listed his location as Siberia! I was taking a chance, but saw he had a high number of favorable ratings, and the bid was so low (only one other bidder!) I figured, even if I got ripped off the money was less than a lunch meal. Anyway, it showed up the other day after only three weeks after winning the bid. It was very well packed and everything was included - even the bag.
The arms are another ebay purchase as bit parts from "regular" Dreadnoughts. I used some thin credit card plastic to modify the arms to fit onto the Contemptor shoulder guards. The body, arms, shoulder guards and head are magnetized for changing poses - as well as swap outs of arms in the future.
It's a cool model and one which I wanted when I first got the Space Marines bug - but didn't want to pay the full price - luckily there is a nice Siberian on ebay with deals like this.
A few different poses - the legs are fixed as it would take the use of magnetic ball joints, and that is too much work.
Thats a mean looking lump of resin.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to see it with some paint on it.
Peace James
Thanks, James. It is a sweet model. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteGood one! I do like it...
ReplyDeleteGreat looking model. Will be even cooler with the magnetic arms etc able to swap out.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, I love this pattern of Dreadnought ever since they did them back in the days of space marine. Never could understand why they became the big square looking miniatures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and the kind comments.
ReplyDelete@ Simon - the current Dread bodies look like old-fashion computers.
Best, Dean
You are going to have fun with this one Dean.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing you work him up.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fine-looking sculpt, and you've done some excellent work in making it a multi-use item for the tabletop.
ReplyDeleteWell done!
Thanks, Gents! I hope to slap some paint on him this week. Warm regards, Dean
ReplyDeleteWow... I really want to see this one painted!
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty big - I am guessing its standing on a 60mm base?
ReplyDeleteNothing like a cheap deal to make things even more fun. Looking forward to seeing him painted up!
ReplyDeleteI bet you will do a hell of a job on this one
ReplyDeleteThanks for the interest and comments, Gentlemen
ReplyDelete@ Scott - yes 60mm bases. Will post shots along with Terminator and SM for comparison once painted
Best, Dean
