Here are three more foot regiments - Sir Phillip Skippon's redcoats; Lord Brookes' in purple; and Lord Saye & Sele's bluecoats; all Parliamentarians.
Skippon's pikemen and command are Perry metals. As with most of the previous foot regiments, these were chosen mainly for their coat colors and available flags. Not necessarily for participation in any particular battle or campaign. The pikes for the Perry figures are from plastic broom bristles - which are very sturdy and flexible. There more foot regiments remain to be painted - including another Scots Covenanter one. After they are done, the cavalry and dragoons will be worked on.Just a quick update and thank you all for stopping by and wishing you all the best.
Nice replenishment, Dean. The army is growing very fast.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Alexey. Yes, just a few more foot, and on to the cavalry. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteMore great(and speedy!) work Dean. I too have Brooke's
ReplyDeleteRegiment for their snazzy purple attire!
Thanks a lot, Keith. Yes, definitely had to have a purple gang. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteMore excellent work Dean!
ReplyDeleteWell done!
Thank you kindly, Michal. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteDang! How can you be so fast? I haven't painted anything since your last post, so depressing :)
ReplyDeleteLol! Thank you kindly, Javier. The purple and bluecoated figs were repaints (mostly just the clothing), so sped up the process. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteWow, again, a treat to see the new units, done so nicely and so soon after the others. Looking forward to seeing some pike and shot action here soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Joe. Yes, as soon as the cavalry are done - a lot of them only repaints also. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteThree more splendid units!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you very much, Iain. Just several more foot and on to the cavalry. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteGreat looking regiments!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks a lot, Christopher! Appreciate the visit and kind comment. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteVery handsome display! Nice, big regiments; I like ‘em!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Jonathan! These regiments are a bit larger (more figures) than my usual 24-man Napoleonic foot units. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteFantastic work Dean ! Great paint-job as well.
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Thank you very much again, Mario! Kind regards, Dean
DeleteVery well done! Love the deep purple and the rich blue
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nick! Both colors are from a Vallejo starter set - the blue is actually called "Ultramarine Blue" for Space Marines :) Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteGreat work Dean.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Scrivs! Best, Dean
DeleteGreat looking pike and shot units Dean. I really must get a move on, only painted 2 figures this year so far!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
Thank you very much, Ross! Well, a lot of these were repaints, so sped up the process. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteA trio of fine looking regiments, Dean. Your units are the same as my originals, but I have since gone with half that size. I have Brooke and Say and Seele in my army as well, and for the same reasons! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peter! I was thinking about regiment size too - the shot wings, in particular, as they seem to take up too much frontage. I was thinking if only 8 figs (2 stands) per wing might work better; keeping the pike as a block of 16 (4 stands). Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteCracking regiments Dean!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Mike! Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteDean, you continue to amaze!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Mike! You're too kind. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteSuch productivity and all looking good 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Matt! Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteI agree with the other comments about the speed that you are getting things painted. You are a painting machine!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dave! Just getting the rank and file done. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteLovely work on these. Nice to see how well the Perry stuff seems to work with the Warlord. I think the next batch of figs I pick up for ECW will be from them - I have a smattering in the batch of OG figs I got, and quite like them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Markus. Yes, the Perry work well with the Warlord figs; the Perry may be a tight "slighter" overall, but work well together. I saw a YouTube comparison of these two along with Bicorne - and Bicorne were quite massive (and taller) than both Perry and Warlord. I may pick up a command figure or two of Bicorne latter - as I don't mind command figures being somewhat larger. Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteWonderful miniatures. Nice to see!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Sergey! Kindest regards, Dean
DeleteWhat a beauties Dean! Fantastic job! I see that is not your last word on that yet! Good, that is good. Waiting for the whole army presentation.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much again, Bartek! Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteThat's a lot of minis and it's only the start of the year :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Kuan! Kindest regards, Dean
