Victrix Middle Guard - WIP

Managed to put together 48 of the 60 figures; grouped into 3 16-figure units. I used some of the Grenadier and Chasseur bearskins for officers. I plan to paint the units up as Fusilier-Grenadiers, Fusilier-Chasseurs and Voltigeurs of the Guard. This set has far less separate parts than the previous Victrix sets, and the plastic seems to be a lot more durable. Hopefully, they'll paint up pretty easily too, as they're wearing greatcoats (the backpacks reflect this too).
Images from a nice uniform book which will be used as a painting guide.
Next, the figures will be glue-gunned to popsicle sticks - may have to make a run to Joann's to pick up more sticks. Thanks again for stopping by.

    How tedious was the assembly process?

      Not at all, Jonathan. I started with the command figures, then grouped the five or six different body types and then the several arm combinations in a production line. Actually, one marching pose aleady has the arms attached. Then it was just heads and backpacks.I would not hesitate to get more of this set.     I'm loving this project!

    PS Last summer, my daughter worked at Northwest Trek as an intern. We moved her in and then back home at the end of summer. I didn't realize you lived in Puyallup! I was up and down those streets quite lot. D'oh!

    They look a lot less complicated than the line troops, your making good progress,Im putting together the warlord plastic landsknechts,I find it theraputic but in a different way to painting.

    I knew it, in a couple of more days your going to make us all look bad because you will have them all painted.... grrrr.

    Seriously though coming along nicely.

    I had both Perry and Victrix plastics when they first came out just to check them out. I want to say I think I liked the Victrix better. I don't remember. How do they compare size, sculpt, in your opinion, and which do you prefer.

    Lol! I am slogging away with the Victrix giys.nothing spectacular. Just block painting and a Minwax stain. As far as size, both Victrix and Perry are on par and parts can be interchangeable. If you are ever in the mood, please try these Victrix Middle Guard, they are very similar to Perry. Warm regards, Dean
