Warlord Praetorian Guard - One Unit Completed

Even though I ordered enough blue shield decals for both boxes of figures, I decided to use the red set that came with one of the boxes. This way the two units will be a little different looking, while still somewhat uniform (armor-wise).
The second unit is still awaiting the missing helmeted heads, as well as the blue shield decals. Otherwise they are also completed.
I may order the Optio pack and add one to each unit to bring them up to 21-man units. This way they can be in three ranks of 7 figures - for WAB 2.0.

  2. Thanks a lot, Roger. This being my first set of EIR (at least in 28mm), I was happy to realize they are quite simple to paint up - and the Miniwax makes them look far better than the effort put in. Granted, the shield decals really set them off too. Best, Dean

  6. Dean - When you use the Miniwax, are you dipping the figures or brushing it on? The figures look great.

  7. Thanks for the great comments, Gents.

Neil: Always brushed on; starting from the top of the figure (including weapons, etc.) and then flowing it downward. I try to remove excess pooling around certain areas by dabbing at the area with the brush. It's best to work in cool conditions - that way it dries slower. Best, Dean

  11. The Praetorians look great - I really like the shading you used and, as always, your painting quality continues to inspire.

I still have 20 of the Warlord Praetorians to finish from the Army Box I purchased when I first got into ancients a year ago.

I look forward to seeing them on the table
