Finished up the Perry French Egyptian Campaign foot. 2nd Light in green coats; 22nd Light in sky blue coats, 25th Line in "dusty" pink coats, 88th Line in purple coats, 9th Line grenadiers in red coats and Dromedaries in light blue dolmans.
The units are in multiples of 6, with the intention of using Rebels and Patriots. Mainly wanted to paint the various coats colors without building large forces. I may add some cavalry to the French - hussars or chasseurs. The Ottomans are next in the paint queue, but still researching their "uniforms".Thanks for stopping by and wishing you all the best.
Your early French are terrific,Dean! I was am pleased to see that you fielded units in a variety of these colorful uniforms.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the compliment, Jonathan. Yes, these have been on my wishlist for awhile. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteBeautiful French soldiers Dean!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Michal! Kind regards, Dean
DeleteVery nice indeed Dean....the Republican period has always tempted me, with the Mirlton caps and geometric flag designs....but do I need another large project when I already have cupboards full of unused armies? Scaling it down to a skirmish type level is a good compromise, and, incidentally, a clue to why games like Sharpe Practice, Bolt Action et al are so popular nowadays !
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Keith. Yes, this is definitely a small scale (minimal figures) venture. Just a nice way to paint up a few colorful uniforms. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteThey are looking very dashing. I think I might need to read up on Bonapart's adventures in the middle East.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words. The Egyptian "adventure" might have been more to do with getting Bonaparte out of France than a conquest. Warmest regards, Dean
DeleteColorful and beautiful figures Dean, cracking job!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Phil! Best regards, Dean
