Of course a true HYW English force would have a good number of Longbowmen. Anyway, these figures were all painted awhile ago, but I don't think they were pictured as a group before - at least not as a LR retinue.
This site was created late in 2008, just a few years after first becoming involved in wargaming. As you can tell by the name, WAB was my introduction to this community. I appreciate the following and comments this blog receives, and give all thanks and credit to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It may seem odd that this blog appears to focus on the folly of mankind's continuous warfare, but I believe I can still enjoy this hobby so long as I put Him first in all I do. Maranatha!

Lion Rampant Retinue - Somewhat English HYW
Of course a true HYW English force would have a good number of Longbowmen. Anyway, these figures were all painted awhile ago, but I don't think they were pictured as a group before - at least not as a LR retinue.
Terrific heraldry! You know, there are still a few hours remaining to get 50% discount on BTD HYW infantry archers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan. It'll be interesting to see this retinue in action. Warm regards Dean
DeleteLovely painted figs Dean!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the kind words. Regards Dean
DeleteLook like a hard hitting HYW retinue with all those MAA Dean!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mike! I knew they're would be rules to get them all in a game :) Best, Dean
DeleteFantastic forces! Love painted minis. This great heraldy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michal! Appreciate the compliments! Warm Regards, Dean
DeleteSmall but powerful force! Looks great Dean!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rodger. Now even if I get defeated, I'll only have a few figures to remove as casualties :) Best, Dean
DeleteA nicely balanced force dean, speed and punch.
ReplyDeleteCracking looking figures.
Looking forward to see how they play when they take to the field.
Cheers
Stu
Thank you very much, Stu. Yes, it'll be interesting to see how they perform. Regards, Dean
DeleteThat's a splendid looking group Dean, the livery on the knights really catches the eye.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael - I suppose this force, besides the Mounted Yeomen with bows, would be what would be involved in melee after Longbow fire. Warm Regards, Dean
DeleteThey look great and colored!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Phil! Best, Dean
DeleteGood Gracious! Those look simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteI went a little overboard during a recent 50% off sale at Black Tree Design and ordered enough guys for TWO MORE Lion Rampant Warbands!? (though they'll be a little infantry heavy - as the sale was only on infantry figures...)
Thanks a lot, Tim! Appreciate the visit and nice words. I picked up all of the BTD figs on sale too - they put them on sale every now and then. But you're right - the cav rarely goes on sale. I did manage to get a pack when they had it on sale too - I think it was a mistake on their part :) Enjoy painting them up - they're really nicely detailed and robust for gaming. Regards, Dean
DeleteI did get one cavalry unit out of the deal. While only historical infantry was on sale, ALL the fantasy stuff was on sale. So I picked up a unit of six camel riders from the fantasy Saracen line.
DeleteAh, camels. Very cool!
DeleteLooking good Dean!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fran! Warm Regards, Dean
DeleteNice pick they look marvellous altogether.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Simon! Regards Dean
DeleteSome familiar faces here... :D A most impressive warband, Dean! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLol! Yep, these are the guys from last year, but first time as a retinue for LR. Been meaning to take a pic for some time. Best, Dean
DeleteI admire your museum-quality work!
ReplyDeleteThanks as always, Ted!
