Foundry Trojan War Figures - WIP

These are the figures that Kevin Smyth brought to Fix Bayonets that belonged to David Sullivan. I've added lead foil straps to the figures with the body shields (Figure-8 and Tower). The tower shields themselves are Redoubt spares. The spears are plastic broom bristles.

Image below is a close-up of the Lion Hunt dagger. Note the shield straps are worn over their left shoulder. The Iliad references the shield and sword straps crossing each other.
I was looking through the Tribal rules last night, and decided to use One-Hour Skirmish Wargames Ancient & Medieval rules instead. The two main reasons are: one - Tribal has specific troop types in units of 5 figures - whereas, One Hour Skirmish uses individual figures in units of various troop types; and second, One-Hour Skirmish Wargames is slightly faster-playing and a bit more simplified - which is also what I want for a convention game for players with little or no previous rules experience. Anyway, just a quick update. Thanks again for visiting, and hope you all are doing well.

  2. Interesting group. I like the tribal rules, but they do take a little getting used to. Your painting mojo should work well here,

    1. Thanks, Joe! I do like the rules, still; it's just that I didn't want to use a lot more figures than the ones here. I will add a few of my existing Mycenaean figures though. Kind regards, Dean

  4. I had a Trojan army once, but sold it, mixed feelings on that as I got a good price, but still wish I had them Anyhow enough of my drama, looking forward to your results.

    1. Thanks, Christopher. I can certainly understand. I still somewhat regret selling my large ECW collection - although that went to a very good gaming buddy here locally, and I can see them often. Another one I regret is my Foundry Macedonian/Successor pike army. Oh well, someone else (in Texas, IIRC), should be enjoying them. Warmest regards, Dean

    1. Thanks, Matt. Indeed, taking the time to clean up the casting, and adding details are much easier before starting painting. Kindest regards, Dean
